The Doctors Inn in the Sherwood Forest area of Winston-Salem House (Shared Housing)

Welcome to “The Doctors Inn” My husband and I rent furnished rooms to post graduate students and medical students & residents (Physicians). Our Sherwood Forest home is in a quiet and safe neighborhood close to most anything in Winston Salem. Less... than 4 miles to both hospitals, less than 3 miles to WFU, about 10 minutes to downtown. Walking distance or less than half mile to grocery, restaurants and TJ Maxx. Also new SPORTS BAR opening in the shopping complex. I have one bedroom with en-suite and one bedroom w/shared bath on the main level. Tenant’s kitchen and full size refrigerator is in lower level kitchen. Light cooking (no heavy odors) only between 7am-7pm. Lower level has a shared bathroom, living room, dining room and the kitchen. All fireplaces are for looks only, not for use. Laundry to be discussed in interview. As this is a private home, rules will apply and will be discussed at interview. We expect everyone to respect the others living on this property. ie… Clean up after yourself, keep your bed & bath clean as there is no housekeeping service. Absolutely NO food/beverages allowed in bedrooms so no chance mishap on valuable antique furnishings. No one other than person on lease allowed on property due to liability issues. Remember this is someone’s home.
My Husband and I live at the house part time. I have Gucci, my Maltese and Bentley, my Maltese mix with me, so no other pets allowed. I am overly sensitive to cigarette smoke so NO Smokers/NO Vapers allowed. Social drinking allowed only (not a party house). No drugs Dr Abernethy graduated from WF Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1976 and completed his Residency in Family Practice ay WFBH in 1979 . He also worked on a PHD during his time at WFBG. Dr Abernethy now spends his “off time” (we are still working part time in our private practice clinic) at our “Hobby Farm” so we usually have fresh eggs in refrigerator for tenant enjoyment. Since Dr Abernethy rented rooms from private citizens while attending medical school and during medical residency. We understand the stress involved with post graduate school and residency and try to make this as stress free as possible. We supply all linens in bedrooms and in all bathrooms. Also supply a starter of toiletries. Any cleaners needed to help keep areas clean are also included. All you need to do is move in. We LOVE Medical Students and Residents.
